Green, Hilary

Biography

Hilary Green’s first books were inspired by the stories she heard from her parents when she was a child. Her father was a professional singer with a fine baritone voice and her mother was a dancer. They met just before the outbreak of World War II. Hilary’s father served all through the war with the RAF and never went back to singing.

Hilary was fascinated by the idea that the war had changed so many lives and sent people off in directions they would never have imagined, and this became the inspiration for her.

When not writing she gardens, rides horses, walks in the countryside and plays bridge as well as enjoying travel and has been round the world several times. Hilary is married, has a grown-up son and two grandchildren.
