Biography
Lauren Bastide is a journalist, the creator of La Poudre (Gunpowder) – a feminist podcast with over 10 million downloads, and co-founder of the Nouvelles écoutes production studio. She has been the editor-in-chief of the magazine Elle, a commentator on Canal Plus, and the producer of the radio program “Les Savantes” (“The Female Savants”) on France Inter. Since 2016, she has been a member of the women journalists’ organization Prenons la Une (Take Back the Front Page). With degrees in political science and gender studies, she has made women’s portrayal in the media the focus of both her professional and her activist concerns.
