Lucine and Enzo

Original title: Lucine et Enzo

Author: Emma

Synopsis

Enzo isn’t like other kids. Lucine, his mom, realized that from his earliest childhood. Boisterous and inattentive, Enzo has trouble staying focused in class, doesn’t make friends easily, and his teachers have no patience with him.

Lucine consults with specialists and, after a long obstacle path, finally gets a diagnosis: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD or ADHD).
Unlike what most people think, the disorder is fairly common, but poorly understood. ADD children tend to be marginalized, and their stigmatized parents are at a loss for how to deal with the endless crises, with both their children and their significant other.

Yet there are ways of dealing with ADD/ADHD: coping strategies, extra help, psychological counseling, and sometimes medical treatment can enable both children and adults with ADD or ADHD to have normal lives.

A new book from Emma that explains ADHD, helps parents overcome guilty feelings, and find the right people, strategies and solutions for having a happy, fulfilling life with their very special children.
