How Jack Lost Time

Original title: Jack et le temps perdu

Synopsis

It is possible to get lost on water,
on land,
or in the air.
It is possible to get lost
in too much noise
or
not enough.
It is possible to get lost
pretty much anywhere,
actually.
And one thing was certain:
it was on his boat
that Jack lost himself.

Jack wasn’t a captain like the others. He never left his boat, he even grew a kitchen garden on it to make sure to be always at sea. He wasn’t even interested in fish, so whenever one got caught in his net, Jack threw it back.

All he cared about was to fi nd the grey whale with the scarred dorsal fi n that had swallowed up his son Julos years before. He had promised himself to never come home until he found his son. One night, a night not much different from other nights, he saw something lurking around his boat. Jack didn’t waste a moment to throw himself in the whale’s mouth and deep into the whale’s belly, but was it too late?

Poetic about loss and the choices that change one’s life forever.
