Biography

Mariette Navarro (1980) is a writer and playwright living in Paris. Since 2016, she is directing with Emmanuel Echivard “the Grands Fonds collection” at Editions Cheyne, where she is responsible for the poetic prose Alors Carcasse (2011, Prix Robert Walser 2012), Les Chemins contraires (2016). Her debut novel Ultramarins (Quidam, 2021) sold 30,000 copies and won the Prix Senghor, Prix Frontières-Léonora Miano, Prix Mémoires de la mer and Prix de l’Usage du monde in 2022. Ultramarins has been translated into English, German, Italian, Spanish and Russian.
