Piera Degli Esposti is a giant of the Italian theatrical scene. She made her film debut
in the late Seventies and during her illustrious career she has worked with some
of Italy’s finest directors, including the Taviani brothers, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Lina
Wertmüller and Nanni Moretti. In 1980, Dacia Maraini wrote the book Storia di Piera,
inspired by the events of her childhood, made into a movie directed by Marco Ferreri.
