Biography
Madeleine de Place was born in Paris in 1981. After Dis, quand reviendras-tu ? (Tell Me, When Will You Come Back? La Martinière, 2019), the history of the Vivarais-Lignon plateau in the Haute-Loire, where she spends all her summers on her family’s estate, inspired the plot of her second novel. For several months, she steeped herself in the history of the region, which is known for its many partisans and for saving Jewish children during World War II. And now she can offer us a moving and insightful novel, Whoever Saves A Life Saves the World.
