Biography
Arthur C. Danto (Ann Arbor 1924 – New York 2013) was an emeritus professor of philosophy at Columbia University and an art critic for the well-known magazine The Nation. He has written numerous books, including After the End of Art (1997), What Art Is (Johan & Levi, 2014). His book Encounters and Reflections: Art in the Historical Present (1990) won the National Book Critics Circle Prize.
