Ugo Braga is a Brazilian journalist based in Brasília, the federal capital of the country, since 1996. As a reporter, editor or publicity executive, he covered all the relevant political events in Brazil in the last 24 years and won national and international awards, such as Prêmio Imprensa Embratel in 2006 and Transparência Internacional (for Latin America and the Caribbean), and a prize from Instituto Prensa y Sociedad Berlin in 2007. Between 2018 and 2020, he was Director of the Social Communication Department of the Brazilian Health Ministry, when he went through the tragically eventful days he narrates with fair skill and verve in War Against Health, his foray into the narrative non-fiction literature.
