All Taryn longs for is to find her birth mother. But she has no idea what she’s about to dig up. Taryn accidentally finds the letter in her adoptive mother’s old jewelry box:

To my beautiful baby girl. I was your first mother. Please know I loved you… You are my whole heart. Rebecca.

It’s the first clue she has to the identity of her birth mother. The second clue — a faded hospital bill — leads her to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. There she discovers a large, loving Amish family with distinctive violet eyes — just like her own.

Taryn has found her birth family… but finding the truth is another matter.

As she gets to know her new-found aunts, uncles and cousins and falls in love with the Amish way of life, Taryn can’t help but wonder what happened to the young woman who gave birth to her. And who is her real father?

Taryn discovers that this gentle little community is hiding a dark secret. Then she gets a text:

Roses are red, violets are blue. You can hide, but I’ll find you.

As Taryn comes to realize her life is in danger, it’s clear that someone is determined to stop her finding out the truth — whatever it takes.
