The Recipe for Happiness Is That There Is None
Original title: La recette du bonheur est qu’il n’y en a aucune
Synopsis
Even with a few pips, life can still be full of flavor.
It has been 18 months since Clémence laid the foundations for her new life in the Basque Country.
After recovering from a turbulent divorce – with a little revenge thrown in for good measure – she is finally thriving in a job that suits her, with new sincere friendships and her lover.
But people never really change, and Clémence still feels the need to control everything in order to feel secure. So when her boss announces that he is leaving her in charge of the shop to go on a round-the-world trip, and her son believes his life is over because of his first heartbreak, she will have to adapt and demonstrate (once again) her ability to cope with change.
A novel about ‘they lived happily ever after… but not always’ because life has its share of unexpected events and you have to know how to adapt to the vagaries of fate.
In her books, Charlotte Léman takes a playful bite out of our era.
