Gratitude is about being grateful for what we receive. It is a way of living, an orientation of the heart, a disposition of the mind, an attitude that we choose to adopt toward life, events, suffering. A quality to cultivate.

Christine Angelard was trained in traditional medicine in France, then turned to naturopathy and global health when she arrived in Quebec.

While studying Chinese medicine, at the beginning of her career, she realizes the full extent of the psychic potential that we all hold on our health and well-being. Integrating this holistic approach to the treatment of her patients seemed obvious to her, focusing more specifically on the therapeutic virtues of gratitude.

In this book, she highlights the mechanism that this “state of grace” operates on the individual, how it influences the nervous system balance and health in general by providing a sense of sustainable well-being.

However, a preliminary step is required to optimize the effects of gratitude: do a diligent introspection to unburden any emotional damage that may otherwise hinder the healing process. To this end, she developed a method combining a technique aimed at healing the five wounds of the soul, the Emotional Freedom Technique (EMT) and the Hawaiian traditional Ho’oponopono practice. In the end, this method harmonizes body and soul allowing to make peace with ourselves, others and life.

Christine Angelard has long been a medical doctor in France. Upon her arrival in Quebec, she trains in naturopathy and becomes a therapist in global health. She considers the human being as a whole, where the body and the mind are interconnected and influence each other, and treats her patients according to this dual perspective. She is also a speaker and the author of several books including Vivre autrement (Bayard, 2008), La médecine soigne, l’amour guérit (Fides, 2010), Voyage en pays d’intériorité (Fides, 2011), Les essences-ciel pour le corps et pour l’âme (Fides, 2010).
