Synopsis

Shaken by the abominable acts he’s investigating, Jourdan, a police captain in Bordeaux, is starting to feel that his life is adrift. Until the day he meets Louise.

Louise is in her 30s. After her parents died in an accident, she sank into alcoholism and drugs. Now she lives alone with her 8-year-old son, Sam, the only bright spot in her life. She is being stalked by her former boyfriend, who beats her so badly one day that he leaves her for dead. The investigation is handed to Jourdan, who isn’t indifferent to Louise. Alongside that case, a compulsive, unpredictable, and deeply disturbed serial killer of women is on the loose. At the intersection of both cases is Jourdan, a downbeat, taciturn, police captain who is hoping to regain his appetite for life.
