At the age of seven, he who had eyes only for birds and their promise of escape has just killed his father. Behind this family tragedy lie many buried secrets, a childhood trampled upon, and the shadow of a legacy whose significance he does not yet understand.

Several years have passed for Othello. As he begins an internship at an ornithological association and does his best to fit in, he inevitably finds himself following in the footsteps of his parents’ dramatic past…
