Become Who You Are
Original title: Deviens qui tu es
Synopsis
An album that invites children to cultivate what is unique inside them.
“Become who you are”: this mysterious phrase is a reworking of the famous saying by the Greek lyric poet, Pindar (5th Century BC).
Become what you are, do only what you can do. Such is the complete formula of the maxim, taken up not only by Nietzsche but also by Goethe and Spinoza.
In our children’s ‘self-help’ collection, this book assures children that they are unique, and allows them to realise that finding and asserting themselves can take time. It can be achieved by being open to the outside world and others.
The book invites children to grow into ‘who they are’ by comparing this ‘inner being’ to a seed that needs to be protected, watered and cultivated. Gradually, as the pages turn, we see the seed open up, emerge from the earth and grow into a large tree. At the same time, we accompany the child toward their own self-fulfillment.
