Original title: L’âge des accidents

Synopsis

A clear-eyed exploration of the limitations and failings of the modern media industry, including how even the most rational arguments are treated with subjectivity. Patricia thought her life was built on solid foundations. She had a well-established career, a relationship with a smart man and two beautiful children. But then the unimaginable happens: while on her way to work, her daughter barely survives the collapse of an overpass. From that moment on, everything changes. Who can we count on to prepare for a world on the brink of disasters? Faced with a media industry powerless to alter destructive behaviors, perhaps we must start afresh, far to the North, growing fresh roots and flinging open the doors to climate refugees in search of hope.

The author writes with a lively, syncopated style, like a beating heart brimming with very relatable emotion. Inter generational alliances allow the novel’s characters to forge inspiring paths forward, leading readers along with them.
