Biography
Jean Vautrin defines himself as "a popular writer." Awarded the 1989 Prix Goncourt for Un grand pas vers le bon Dieu, he is the author of an abundant and much-praised oeuvre including Billy-ze-Kick, La vie Ripolin, the Aventures de Boro series with Dan Franck, and Le Cri du peuple, adapted into a comic strip by Jacques Tardi. He received the Feuille d’Or of the City of Nancy for his complete oeuvre.
