Gilles van der Loo (Breda, 1973) is a trained psychologist who also worked as a chef in Amsterdam. Since 2011, he has published a collection of short stories Hier sneeuwt het nooit (It never snows here) and the novels Het laatste kind, Het jasje van Luís Martin, Dorp and Café Dorian. He teaches creative writing to both schoolchildren as well as adults.
