Mônica Raisa Schpun is a historian and habilitated researcher (HDR) at the Centre de recherches sur le Brésil colonial et contemporain of the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (CRBC-EHESS) in Paris. She is the editor of the academic journal Brésil(s). Sciences humaines et sociales. She is a published author, specializing in urban history, gender, and international migrations.
