Biography
As an illustrator, Stéphane Manel has already published two four-handed works with Seghers: Monsieur Proust (2022) with Corinne Maier and Bacon, éclats d’une vie (2023) with Franck Maubert. In 2024 with Exercices de Staël and today with Du côté de Paris, he signs two books in his own name (text and drawing), opening the doors to his artistic universe. He has published two illustrated books in parallel with his exhibitions, Memory Lines and All the Things You Are.
He had also illustrated Edouard Baer’s book Les Élucubrations d’un homme soudain frappé par la grâce (2021), designed numerous record covers (Sebastien Tellier, Barbara) and credits (Irma Vep by Olivier Assayas), and regularly collaborated with the press (Elle, Vogue, L’Obs, The New Yorker).
