Biography

Marie-Renée Lavoie was born in 1974 in Limoilou, near Quebec City. She is the author of three novels, including La petite et le vieux (Mister Roger and Me, Anansi, 2021), which won ICI Radio-Canada’s “Battle of the Books”—the Quebec equivalent of “Canada Reads”—and the Archambault Prize. She also writes children’s books (La curieuse histoire d’un chat moribond) and young adult novels (Zazie series and Le dernier Camelot), all published by Éditions Hurtubise. She holds a master’s degree in literature and teaches at the college level.
