Biography

Caroline Laurent is Franco-Mauritian. After the success of her book co-written with Évelyne Pisier, Et soudain, la liberté (Les Escales, 2017; Pocket, 2018; Prix Marguerite Duras; Grand Prix des Lycéennes de ELLE; Prix Première Plume), which has been translated in many countries, she published Rivage de la colère (winner of a dozen awards, including the Prix Maison de la Presse 2020; the Prix du Roman Métis des Lecteurs et des Lycéens, the Prix Louis-Guilloux and the Prix Bourdarie de l’Académie des Sciences d’Outre-Mer), a novel adapted into a comic strip published by Philéas. Caroline Laurent founded her independent literary agency in 2021; she gives writing workshops in prison and collaborates with the school Les Mots. Since October 2019, she is a member of the CNL’s Vie Littéraire commission.
