Biography
Wagner Gutierrez Barreira is a journalist, writer and former professor of the Social Communications program at PUC São Paulo, where he taught Techniques in Reporting and Theory of Journalism. He worked for some of Brazil’s most prestigious newsrooms, as Veja magazine, the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo, TV Cultura and Abril Media Group, where he worked as their first Digital Media Editorial Director. In 2018, he released the biography Lampião e Maria Bonita, uma história de amor e balas (Lampião and Maria Bonita, a Story of Love and Bullets), by Planeta. Demerara, his foray into fiction, was released by Instante in 2020. He is 58 years old, lives in São Paulo and has three children.
