Biography

Zainab Fasiki (Fez, Morocco, 1994) went from being a mechanical engineer to becoming a cartoonist and illustrator. An activist for women’s rights and individual freedoms, Zainab runs comic strip and activism workshops in universities and associations in Morocco and internationally. She is also the founder of the collective /WOMEN POWER/, which every month invites twenty young women to participate in workshops to encourage young artists in their artistic careers.
She has close to 100K followers on Instagram and 40K followers on Facebook.
In 2022, Zainab Fasiki won the ‘Couille au cul’ prize for her book Hshouma, which is awarded every year at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in recognition of the artistic courage of a creator.
