Brisac, Geneviève

Biography

Geneviève Brisac is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure, a certified teacher, journalist, editor, novelist (winner of the 1996 Femina Prize for Weekend de chasse à la mère), essayist, and author of children’s books. She has been a long-time literary critic at Le Monde and collaborator of France Culture. Before publishing this book on Anna Akhmatova, she dedicated numerous works to women and writing, including Loin du paradis, Flannery O’Connor; Sisyphe est une femme, La marche du cavalier; and, recently, a letter to Virginia Woolf in the collection “Les affranchis” (NiL), À l’amie des sombres temps.
