Bati, Marc

Biography

Marc Bati’s first comic books appeared in Métal Hurlant and Pilote, iconic magazines of the 1980s. He worked alongside Jean Giraud Moebius, with whom he co-authored eight albums, including Cristal Majeur, which launched a heroic fantasy science fiction series entitled Altor. In 2003, he disappeared from the comic book scene to devote himself to his new passion, the Très Court International Film Festival. He created this event and ran it until 2020. Then came the Covid years, and he handed over the reins of the festival and picked up his pencils again to develop an impressive graphic imagination fuelled by all his new experiences.

His recent work has been the subject of several exhibitions in Paris, and now he is back in bookshops, coming full circle with an adventure that bridges the gap between a resolutely fantastical universe and the most current socio-political reality.
