Biography
Virginie Achard loves words so much that she has made them her career, having worked as a copywriter in communications for many years. She has fun with words, but she still prefers them in other people’s books. Getting lost in novels by different authors is like a drug. She reads everything, from classics and contemporary fiction to crime novels, general literature, and feel-good books. The latter category was a turning point: what if she, too, could use her words to make people feel good?
Now living in the Basque Country, it was there that she wrote her first novel, It’s Raining a Little, a Lot, Passionately.
I wanted authentic characters in real situations, where life can be difficult but also exciting. Emotions in every sense, seemingly trivial reflections that are not so trivial after all, clarifications, nods to the past… To remind us that despite everything, everyday life has a bright future ahead of it!—Virginie Achard.
