Biography
Alice Ferney was born in 1961 in Paris, where she now lives. A graduate of ESSEC Business School and a doctor of economics, she taught this subject for twenty-five years at the University. She has been a contributor to Le Figaro littéraire since 2005. Alice Ferney has published thirteen novels, all published by Actes Sud, including Grace and Numbness , The Elegance of Widows (adapted for the cinema under the title Eternity by Tran Anh Hung), The Conversation of Love , a huge bestseller and translated into ten languages, The Bourgeois , winner of the Historia Prize for historical novels, and Intimacy (50,000 copies sold in France and adapted for the cinema under the title Attachment by Carine Tardieu, released in February 2025 and seen by more than 800,000 spectators).
