Biography

An internationally renowned specialist, Stéphane Bourgoin has been studying serial killers for over 35 years. The 1976 rape and murder of his girlfriend by a repeat offender in California set him on his path. Since then, he has met with over 70 serial killers for the sake of his investigations, books and documentaries. They include Ed Kemper, the model for Thomas Harris’s Hannibal Lecter, with whom he taped over 400 hours of interviews. Born in 1953, Stéphane Bourgoin is a best-selling author and film director.
