LITERARY FICTION

Rough, unpolished and realistic. — De Telegraaf

A highly anticipated novel on identity, love, and loyalty

An ode to Amsterdam, and its infamous Red Light District.

A unique portrayal of the Red Light District.

In prison, Joshua – a Moroccan posing as an Israeli – meets Klaas, the King of the Red Light District. Klaas makes Joshua an offer he can’t refuse, thus commencing the beginning of the end. Over the course of the following year, Joshua sinks into a reality with limited confidants, growing gradually more detached from the dreams he and his darling Dee had set for themselves. Narcissus is a novel set in the Red Light District, capturing perfectly the clash of cultures.

Sol Bouzamour (1982) is an author, journalist and visual artist. He grew up in the Pijp (an Amsterdam neighborhood), and is of Moroccan heritage. Bouzamour worked as a social worker, personal trainer, and as a bouncer, until he discovered with his creative eye. In his youth, he had his share of conflict with the judicial system. After spending time in juvenile detention, he got in touch with his spiritual side, learning from masters such as Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer. Turning the page, Narcissus is his debut novel.
